Puck Budget is a company that builds successful hockey families. We offer Minor hockey player management services for all ages, and skill levels! In the past, player management has been exclusively for elite hockey players, beginning in, and around, their OHL draft year. But not anymore! WE WILL MANAGE ANY MINOR HOCKEY PLAYER THAT WANTS TO PUT IN THE WORK! Our Total Family Development Model aims to build great players, and help hockey parents mitigate the growing costs of the game.
Essentially, Puck Budget is the agent, before the agent; creating long-term performance plans for all serious hockey players, not just the best. Very few hockey players make it to the next level, why you ask? The answer is simple, lack of planning. The famous Benjamin Franklin quote, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail,” is indicative of many things in life, including hockey.
As a former hockey player, strength and conditioning coach, skill development professional and collegiate coach, I wanted to create a business that gave every serious minor hockey player the best chance at a future in the sport; while being mindful of the growing costs and complexities hockey parents face trying to navigate the hundreds of player enhancement services, equipment choices and options on the market. Thus, the Puck Budget difference was born; our “Total
Family Development Model” invests time into the hockey parents, not just the player.
The Fear of getting left behind
The shift toward hockey specialization and privatization has caused an overwhelming
increase in hockey related services and expenditures. The majority of hockey parents share a common, and legitimate, fear; if they do not participate in hockey year-round, their child will fall behind.
High Costs
Of the four major professional sports, hockey is by far the most expensive. In order to gain the necessary training and equipment to play at the highest levels, some families are investing well over $20,000/year.
